Freed From the Law
Why is the gospel so great? Why did Paul defend it and go to such great lengths to make sure it was preserved in its purest form? Because it frees us from law and sin to God. God wants us to know the freedom that we have in Christ and the absolute acceptance he gives us because of Christ’s completed work on the cross. He wants us to be free from trying to be good and from trying to keep any set of rules in order to get to him or because we think it makes God love us more. Even though we are obsessed with the law and checklists, Paul argues with us and lets us know that we are being tricked into living a life that promises freedom but only brings a curse.
