Baptism is a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ — a meaningful step of obedience that symbolizes new life in Him.

What is salvation?

Salvation is being rescued from God’s wrath by possessing the righteousness of Jesus through faith. God is holy and righteous and our sins cause Him to burn with anger against us (which can continue forever).  Jesus takes God’s wrath so we can experience his grace and are SAVED from sin, spiritual death and hell.

God’s Work: Foreknowledge; Predestination; Called; Justified

Salvation is made possible through Jesus Christ  ALONE.

-Jesus was a substitute and satisfied God’s wrath

-Salvation is God’s process in a believer’s life.

-It’s not a matter of hard works or good works or well-intentioned works.  We cannot earn our salvation or earn what Jesus did on the cross.

-Faith is our God-given response to his salvation and the conduit God uses to apply salvation to us.

-We must believe!

You can settle this TODAY!

Sanctification is the process of maturity as God conforms us to His Son’s image.  This is the work of the Holy Spirit, the believer, and the church’s equipping in the process of a believer’s maturity.

What do we believe about baptism?

Origins – baptism by immersion was initiated by Christ and practiced by the early Church and Apostles.

Baptism is…

  • Symbolic but meaningful – it represents salvation already applied to the believer.  It is spiritually significant in terms of obedience, identifying with Christ, the presence of the Spirit, and the proclamation of the Gospel.
  • Reserved – We only baptize those who are professing an initial and unique saving faith in Jesus. We do not baptize infants.
  • Not saving or regenerating – baptism doesn’t save; it doesn’t preserve for salvation
