Never Taste Death on the Road to Belief
There have been numerous movies made about people who seek eternal life by searching for the fountain of youth, putting on the "One Ring", drinking from the Holy Grail, or take the magic pill... What we know for sure is that in the real world, none of these things exist and people die every day. Jesus says in John 8:51 that if anyone keeps His word, "he will never see death." Obviously, this is a tough passage to reconcile if we take it strictly in the physical sense. So, what did Jesus mean when He said that? What are the implications of this statement for those who are called Christians? How will we respond to this truth? Not only did Jesus make this hard hitting statement, He also makes perhaps the most clear proclamation of His divinity in the book of John.
