Jesus Promises to Deliver us from Darkness
We are constantly bombarded broken promises throughout our lives. Politicians tell us that their plan is the one that will save us all... Family and friends do not come through when they said they would... We even let ourselves down when we fail to meet our own expectations. There is however one whose promises do not fail... His promises are fulfilled, and they prove to be more than just words. As we prepare for Christmas, we must remember that God has promised both punishment and mercy... When we look upon a manger scene, we should see more than just a bundle of grace wrapped in swaddling cloths. We should see the one on whom the fullness of God's wrath fell so that we might be redeemed. Our response should be utmost praise and worship as we prepare to celebrate His incarnation, and look forward to His triumphant return.
