Caring for the Suffering Radically Together
As we live this life, there are blind spots that can develop in our spiritual lives. Blind spots in driving can be dangerous, full of obstacles and potential disaster. But they can also hold potentials for opportunity and new directions. We don't know if we can't see them. Our desire is to follow Christ to the uttermost parts of the earth and share the life and hope of Jesus with the least of these. What we find out is that that goal of spreading the Gospel can get lost in the suffering and needs of those that need God's hope the most. We must recapture the truth that Christ's call to follow him and to tell all peoples and nations about his greatness must include reaching out to meet their practical, daily life needs, too. Radical changes must be made in simple, daily areas if we are to truly follow Christ into the great fulfilling life that he has called us into.
