Hello to all of the parents! Truth Weekend is here and I want to partner with all of you as these teenagers prepare for an awesome weekend at the end of this month.
I want to cover some last minute things so that we all can have a super successful weekend! Let’s take a look at:
-Truth Weekend Schedule
-Packing List
-Expectations
-Host Home Assignments
-Service Project Locations
-Small Group Leader Contact Info
Expectations:
-Students will need to prepare for spending the night in host homes for Friday and Saturday nights as part of the weekend experience.
-The TSF landscape project will be outside
-To help students get the most out of Truth Weekend, students will be asked to disconnect from their phones over the weekend. If necessary their small group leader will hold on to their phone in case it becomes too much of a distraction causing a disconnect for that student to be more involved with what is going on around them. Said students will get their phones back from their leader whenever they need to make an emergency call, or in the evenings during down time at the Host Homes. Then phones will need to be put away no later than midnight.
-After lunch on Saturday, students will be playing physical games and spending time together outside at Seaborne Creek Park
Service Project Locations:
-Students will be assigned to worksites at the completion of check-in on Friday. This is due to the usual spike in numbers upon the final minutes of registration.
–Richmond Rosenberg Helping Hands (RRHH) // Here students will sorting food, meals, and clothing at a local donation distribution center. This facility is also in need of a deep cleaning of some of the different storage rooms. For more information on Richmond Rosenberg Helping Hands please visit: https://roserichhelpinghands.org/?page_id=5
–TSF Landscaping // The students who are assigned here will mostly spruce up the gardens of the church by weeding, disposing of trash, and mulching. Then upon completion these students will travel to RRHH to help other students organize the facility.
