SonRise Campout
Father-Son event emphasizing the relationship between our earthly fathers and sons and our Heavenly Father and Son.
This is an outdoor event with tent camping and some RV trailers as available.
We are looking to start this ministry with annual events and excursions with a focus on strengthening, creating, and emphasizing the bond as outlined in the Word of God, the Bible. Guest speakers, in-depth questions, and private time between the fathers and sons will be used for a grand picture of a successful relationship. This ministry will use:
Fathers and sons living at home together
Fathers whose sons have grown and moved along
Sons who have no fathers present in their lives
Sons whose fathers were an important part of their lives
Fathers and Sons who pray for a closer relationship
Sons and fathers who seem that there is no hope to mend their relationship
We will set up camp on Friday evening and return for church on Sunday
We will have tents and some room in RVs
Activities include fishing, boating, field games, group meals, testimonies, campfire time, etc.
Any age is welcome. If you don’t have a father in your life, we ask for volunteers to sponsor a boy for the weekend by spending time with him in the activities.
We are currently recruiting RVs (motorhomes and trailers), tents and sleeping bags, persons to help run activities and organize games, speakers who have been influenced by their fathers/sons, and men who would help an orphan with the world as they see it, cooks for the common meals, song leaders for the campfire time, organizers for all areas of the planning and implementation of an overnight activity.
