Preparing for Advent (John 3:16)

Pastor Matt Prine, November 25, 2012
Part of the Standalone series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Preparing for Advent - As December 25th rapidly approaches, we are bombarded with commercials advertising the newest toys, cars, clothing, jewelry and countless other things that we absolutely MUST buy if we are to be ready for Christmas. But for Christians, this time is not to be spent in shopping malls and online marketplaces trying to benefit from the best sales on things we do not need. It should be a time to prepare our hearts for two things: Remembering Jesus' incarnation and looking forward to His return. For centuries, the season leading up to Christmas day has been celebrated as Advent, and we want to ensure that we honor the name of Christ. Join us as we look at John 3:16, and see how this one verse embodies the "reason for the season."
