Ministry Assistant
Carissa was born and raised in Houston, TX into a loving, Christian home. She grew up in the church as both her parents worked at large churches in the Houston area. She came to know the Lord at a church camp when she was 9 years old and was baptized at the age of 13. She always felt a calling on her life to music, but it wasn’t until she was a junior in high school that the Lord placed her on a worship team that changed the trajectory of her ministry and passion for worship. She has been leading worship over the last 14 years and recorded her first solo album in 2016.
In 2006, she was blessed to be able to marry her high school sweetheart and greatest source of spiritual encouragement. Over the last 10 years, Carissa and Nick have had 3 beautiful daughters (including twins). Eden, McKenna & Jillian are such a picture of God’s grace and have brought so much joy and refinement into the Vann home. Teaching and training their daughters to be women of faith is the sweetest job and ministry the Lord has given them.
Carissa is passionate about her family and wants nothing more than to see her daughters grow up into strong women whose lives reflect the glory of our Savior.
Carissa has known Joe for about 11 years and is blessed to be under his and Jimmy’s leadership in this next season. The Vann’s are so thankful the Lord led them to The Sanctuary Fellowship and look forward to the ministry He has called them to here.
